About 517Rocks

517Rocks launched in January, 2024 and was built after the loss of Buzz 102.5 FM which was licensed to Hudson, MI.  Without a classic rock format to serve Lenawee and surrounding counties, 517Rocks was born.

But we're more than just music; we also want to be a part of the southern Michigan community.  That's why we've teamed up with Nowcast Weather to provide updated and accurate weather forecasts twice an hour.  517Rocks is also committed to announcing local school, club, civic and non-profit event happenings free of charge.

We are focused on south central Michigan and will continue to add elements that not only fit our local-first philosophy, but also add value to you, the listener.  Keep checking 517Rocks.com for the latest updates. 

Our team is small but mighty!  Jerry Hayes is the owner/program director/janitor of 517Rocks.com.  He has 18 years of terrestrial radio experience and is excited to launch this new platform.

We also have an experienced weather team as partners.  Nowcast weather meteorologist Corey Harguth gets your day started between 6AM-Noon.  Meteorologist Jim Vaughn provides updates from Noon-6PM while meteorologist Matthew Harding rounds out the day with his evening and overnight forecasts.

Weekdays are anchored by the team of Van Camp & Morgan from 6-10 AM.  Cindy Scott follows from 10 AM-2 PM and Terry Dean rounds out the workday from 2-6 PM.

Our weekends feature specialty shows including Michigan Rocks Radio with Mark Sandstedt on Friday night and Deep Cuts in the Wolf Den with Monty Wolf on Saturday night.  DC takes over Sunday evenings with Hair On The Air.
