Jerry Hayes

Jerry is an 18-year broadcast veteran and worked in local radio.  He is also the owner/program director/janitor of 517Rocks.  Jerry co-hosted a Michigan Association of Broadcasters award-winning morning show that aired locally for 10 years.  With a deep regard for public service, his goal when creating 517Rocks was to combine his love of the music he grew up on with a focus on local school, club, civic and non-profit event information and promotion.

Throughout his career, Jerry has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment including Jeff Daniels, Eddie Money, Mick Jones (Foreigner), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Bill Rancic and others.  Along the way, he also found he had a knack for calling football play-by-play and was the inaugural voice of Siena Heights University Saints football serving three seasons.  Jerry also called high school football and basketball for a time.

A lifelong Blissfield resident, Jerry has served the community as a member of the Blissfield Village Council for the past four years and is currently on the Blissfield Planning Commission.  In the past, he has served on the Blissfield Parade of Lights Committee, the River Raisin Festival Committee and with the Blissfield Area Lions Club.  Jerry has also emceed numerous fundraisers and benefits around the Lenawee County Area.  He also served for nearly 20 years in the Lenawee County fire service and was a member of both Blissfield Twp. Fire Dept. and Palmyra Twp. Fire Dept. during that time.

Jerry has one adult child, Jax, who shares his love of music.  The two have a vinyl collection that shares a space with the 517Rocks studio.  While 517Rocks is only a "when he has free time" endeavor, Jerry does work full time in sales at Bell Chevrolet Cadillac in Adrian.
