517 Rocks is excited to announce that we will begin airing "Behind the Mitten" on Sunday mornings at 9 AM ET starting Sunday, May 18, 2025.
“Behind the Mitten” is Michigan’s premiere travel radio show and Podcast and has more than 700 episodes. It is co-hosted by John Gonzalez and Amy Sherman. John is a longtime journalist, social media early adopter and member of the Central Michigan University Journalism Hall of Fame. Amy is a former chef with 20-plus experience, craft beer expert and freelance writer. The show has been recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters as Best in Category.
517Rocks owner and program director, Jerry Hayes, said, "since re-launching the station, I have been searching for a program that we could air on Sunday mornings that would be both educational and entertaining. "Behind the Mitten" is the type of program that will teach you a lot about our great state while you ease into your Sunday sipping on a cup of coffee." Hayes said, "I'm excited that 517Rocks is teaming up with Gonzo and Amy and I'm sure our listeners are going to love the program."
